March 29, 2024 - This week’s notables
Infrastructure & Support
We are improving our CRM (Dynamics 365 Field Service) to enable better warranty and subscription management. This week we achieved a lot on this project and recorded all the required changes for this stage. These changes will improve reporting capabilities that help us anticipate upcoming subscription renewals and device warranty end dates. We’ll leverage these new capabilities to track license usage for cost savings and notify customers when device warranties are about to expire.
Devices
One of the services that inWorks LLC provides as a partner of Xerox is Managed Print Services. We want to keep learning about the latest programs and procedures that help us deliver these services efficiently as part of our partnership with Xerox and our customers. This week, Ricky is doing some training courses that he needs for the Xerox Partner Print Services (XPPS) Certification.
Operations & Growth
This week we published our first entry in the Microsoft AppSource (a store for products and solutions for the Microsoft ecosystem). It’s a workshop centered on setting up a central error management approach in Power Automate to reduce broken workflows and ensure that workflows with errors get attention quickly. This one-day workshop is priced at $1499 and will provide a baseline approach to error management and get you started on integrating Power Automate into your company’s service desk processes. We’re very excited about this and hope you check it out! Note that we’ll be hosting a Friday “How Do I…? Happy Hour” on this topic in two weeks.
Information Radiation
We received access to Azure OpenAI so we can start working on incorporating this technology in our own processes. There are a couple of areas that are of particular interest for inWorks LLC:
Providing faster answers and better support at a lower cost to our clients through Teams support chat and other channels
Finally solving that bane of consulting organizations everywhere: time tracking & entry
While the details on both are shrouded in secrecy and mystery (translation: we don’t know how we’re going to do it yet, exactly – we do have some ideas, though), we’re rubbing our excited little hands together and can’t wait to get started!
