Checking in with our favorite Marketing Specialist.
Date: December 18, 2025
Featured Team Member: Jocelyn Hittle
Role: Marketing Specialist
inPulse connects with team members across inWorks LLC as a way to stay engaged with and inspired by the voices that make up our company.
This week we caught up with Jocelyn, Marketing Specialist at inWorks LLC, to find out what’s going on in her department!
Spring into Sustainability: Goats Take the Lead
Jocelyn has taken on an exciting new project that is likely to unfold this spring at Longview Farm. The team is exploring a sustainable approach to land management by bringing in goats to handle weed control—an alternative to traditional methods.
To celebrate the goats’ stay, Jocelyn is planning a special event focused on sustainability. The vision includes interactive learning about eco-friendly land practices, activities for kids, and a showcase of local makers who specialize in goat milk-based products. The concept grew out of a recent land-management discussion, and Jocelyn’s enthusiasm is immense.
“I am hoping to call the event: Goatcella.”
Counting Wins, Not Worries
One of the ongoing challenges Jocelyn works to overcome is internalized self-doubt. Often the youngest person in the room, she admits that imposter syndrome can creep in—something she suspects many people, especially young women, experience.
To counter this, Jocelyn uses a “value tracker,” a tool introduced to her by Jessi Stead. She records contributions she makes to projects and the team in general, noting how they add value and what potential they hold for the future. This practice not only reassures her that she’s in the right place, but it has also sparked ideas for new initiatives that have been adopted by the marketing team.
Driven by Belief in the Mission
Jocelyn shared that her greatest motivation for day-to-day work comes from the pride she feels in what's happening at inWorks LLC and Longview Farm. That sense of purpose and belonging drives her commitment and passion for every project. She considers herself fortunate to have found a place where she believes in the mission.
“I feel so lucky to be at a place where I believe so deeply in all of our work, and it really helps me to show up on days where I don't always feel like it.”
Planting Seeds for Creative Connections
Just the other day, Jocelyn connected with the owner of a boutique in Media—a conversation that sparked exciting possibilities. The boutique owner, Lisa, is enthusiastic about the mission of startWorks and its offerings for independent artists, and the two are scheduling a call to explore collaboration.
Lisa has expressed interest in sharing the initiative with makers in her sphere, using startWorks herself, or handing off some of the freelance PR work she currently manages for her artists.
“Once upon a time, my dad told me a parable about money trees, that it takes them 6 years to germinate and when they do, they become super fruitful. I think it is a reassuring lesson in working at something that you believe in, even when it hasn't produced yet. I hope that this connection is the start of our money tree!”
Popcorn Tradition Returns
Jocelyn would like to revive a work tradition that hasn’t been practiced in some time: during the weekly lunch huddle, team members used to share “spotlights and roadblocks”—a chance to shoutout a coworker or highlight challenges..
She’s bringing it back and kicking things off with a spotlight on coworker Aaron Brown, whose efforts were crucial to the success of a client’s office winddown. Initially, Jocelyn worried about potential roadblocks while coordinating with buyers remotely, but Aaron ensured clear and consistent communication. He handled customers with tact and patience. Great job, Aaron!
