inPulse is a series that connects with team members across inWorks LLC and its initiatives to hear what’s fueling their work, achievements to celebrate, upcoming events to highlight, and more. This lets us stay engaged with and inspired by the voices that make up our team.
Last week, we checked in with Jeremy Mattson—the guy who helps us stay on track financially! Read below.
‘Tis the Season of Tax Prep
Q: Are you working on any project (or has any wrapped up recently) that you’re proud of?
Jeremy has been working hard on streamlining tax prep for this season, as well as sustainability tracking for INW’s small business clients. He recently finished a project that aligned financial data with sustainability metrics, which made reporting clearer and more useful for decision‑making.
“It felt good to create something that saves time and helps clients better understand their impact.”
Strength in Problem-Solving
Q: When do you feel most confident in your role—and what helps you get there?
Problem-solving at work gives Jeremy confidence in his role - especially when a client or teammate asks a complex question that he can break down into something manageable. Having clear expectations, good documentation, and open communication with the team are essential to helping Jeremy stay focused and confident during the week.
Improved Financial Reporting
Q: What’s something happening in your department that you think other team members should know about?
The accounting/bookkeeping department has been focusing their effort into improving processes and consistency, especially around reporting and documentation. According to Jeremy, this is setting up the business to be more efficient during busy periods, while making it easier for team members to step into new roles or collaborate across departments.
Ingredients for Satisfaction
Q: What does a good workday look like for you lately?
“A good workday usually includes making steady progress on focused tasks, solving at least one meaningful problem, and having a few positive check‑ins with teammates or clients. Ending the day knowing I helped move something forward—no matter how small—always feels like a win.”
